History
Steeped in history, the Kalangadoo site began operations in 1948, with the expanding softwood industry making a mark in the district. Walter Morris originally operated the mill, later sold it to Kauri Timber and eventually it incorporated into Softwood Holdings in the early 1960’s. The treatment plant has had a string of owners following Softwoods including Auspine and Gunns and employed 135 people during its peak under Auspine. The sprawling 10.15ha site is now run by Plantation Treated timber Pty Ltd.
